Anthony Dias Blue is the recipient of a 2001 James Beard Foundation Award as well as the 1997 Communicator of the Year Award from the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition in London. He is one of the most influential food and wine personalities in the United States. His work in various media is circulated to more than 30,000,000 global consumers each month. He can be found in print periodicals, on radio, in bookstores and in cyberspace.

For more than two decades Mr. Blue was associated with BON APPETIT, the largest circulation food publication in the United States, serving both as Wine and Spirits Editor and as Director of the Bon Appétit Tasting Panel, an important wine industry advisory group. Mr. Blue's influential consumer-oriented "Blue Lifestyle Minute" on WCBS radio (880 AM) in New York is broadcast several times each weekday and can also be heard daily on CBS radios's KFWB (980 AM) in Los Angeles. Mr. Blue also contributes regularly to THE ROBB REPORT, DECANTER, DRINKS, ORIENT-EXPRESS, C MAGAZINE, PRIVATE CLUBS, BEL-AIR, GREENWICH, and VIRTUOSO LIFE, as well as making occasional contributions to the American Airlines in-flight magazines AMERICAN WAY and CELEBRATED LIVING. In 2007, Mr. Blue became co-owner and Editor in Chief of THE TASTING PANEL magazine, an important beverage industry trade monthly.

In addition to his journalistic endeavors, Mr. Blue has become one of the nation's most successful producers of wine and food events. He is Executive Director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the nation's largest and most prestigious wine judging event, and is also the founding Director of its sister event, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, now in its seventh successful season. Mr. Blue is frequently a judge at major cooking contests and wine competitions worldwide, as well as hosting wine events across the globe.

In the past, Mr. Blue was West Coast Contributing Editor of FOOD & WINE magazine and a Contributing Editor of DIVERSION, CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO, DELTA AIR LINES' SKY and NEW JERSEY MONTHLY magazines. His words have also appeared in THE WINE SPECTATOR, GQ, HOUSE & GARDEN, TRAVEL & LEISURE, FAMILY CIRCLE, AVENUE, CONNOISSEUR, ELLE, FORBES, THE NEW YORK SUNDAY NEWS, THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE, THE SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, GASTRONOME, WINE COUNTRY LIVING, GREAT CHEFS, PLEASURES OF COOKING and CIGAR AFICIONADO.

Blue is the author of ANTHONY DIAS BLUE'S POCKET GUIDE TO WINE, a yearly guide to wines and wineries; the second (2007) edition was published in October, 2006, by Simon & Schuster. Mr. Blue's COMPLETE BOOK OF SPIRITS appeared in November 2004 from HarperCollins. The second edition of its companion volume, THE COMPLETE BOOK OF MIXED DRINKS, which contains over 1500 recipes, was published by the same publisher in 2002. Mr. Blue has also written the definitive book on American wines, AMERICAN WINE - A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE which provides a complete consumer reference to the wineries of the United States. In addition, the BUYERS' GUIDE TO AMERICAN WINES, a paperback which rates 5,000 new wines is published periodically. For several years he also wrote and edited the nationally-praised ZAGAT RESTAURANT SURVEY for Northern California, a best-selling guide to nearly 600 restaurants. In 1990 HarperCollins released THANKSGIVING DINNER, a holiday cookbook written by Mr. Blue and his wife, Kathryn. In 1995 TURNER PUBLISHING, a division of TBS in Atlanta, published AMERICA'S KITCHEN, a cookbook that focuses on the nine regional cuisines of America, by Mr. Blue, assisted by Mrs. Blue. This colorful book offers classic and contemporary recipes with dishes by 50 of America's top chefs.

Mr. Blue's writings appear regularly on the World Wide Web. His wine coverage is carried on Epicurious.com, the important Condé Nast food and wine website. Mr. Blue also served as wine buyer for SINGAPORE AIRLINES for 16 years and as DELTA AIR LINES wine consultant for three years.

Mr. Blue has been master of ceremonies for the James Beard Foundation auction and for the Wine Spectator Wine Experience, and has appeared on ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA. He is Chairman of the Sonoma Valley Wine Auction and was also the founder of The Big Island Bounty Festival in Hawai'i and formerly served as Wine Director and master of ceremonies for GRAND CHEFS ON TOUR at the Kea Lani Hotel on Maui.

In 1988, Mr. Blue was selected for the James Beard Who's Who in Food Award, a recognition given to America's most influential food and wine personalities. He is a recipient of the Manhattan Menus Award, winner of the 1985 Colombini Journalism Award, and has been awarded the Diplôme d'Honneur from the Corporation des Vignerons de Champagne. He has been graduated from the German Wine Academy and installed as a member of Les Compagnons du Beaujolais, Il Ducato dei Vini Friulani, La Confrérie du Vin de Cahors, and La Confraria do Vinho do Porto, as well as being named Chambellan of L'Ordre des Côteaux de Champagne.

Anthony Dias Blue graduated from Amherst College in Massachussets and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Kathy. The couple has four children.
