You don’t have to spend a fortune for quality tequila. Thankfully, given these wild economic times, there are some new brands that emphasize affordability rather than glitz. Take for example, Lunazul. The spicy Lunazul Blanco and smoothly mellow Lunazul Reposado are priced around $20, an exceptional bang for your buck.
As for flavored tequilas, Tabasco Spicy Tequila is infused with the flavors of authentic Tabasco sauce from Louisiana’s historic McIlhenny Company. It’s reasonably priced, and fantastic in a Bloody Mary. If you’re looking for something with a little less bite, try Gran Centenario Rosangel, a hibiscus-infused tequila based on a 10-month-rested Reposado and then aged in Port barrels for color and complexity. For just under $40, it’s a wonderful addition to any home bar.
