Argentina Day I
Checked into the spectacular FOUR SEASONS BUENOS AIRES a stately modern tower set on a large Recoleta property that offers the only swimming pool in the neighborhood as well as a stunning villa, now called βLa Mansion.β The rooms are spacious and complete with every amenity you can imagine. They even took my dusty shoes and returned then brightly shined and wrapped in tissue paper. There are a number of apartments in the Mansion that have been completely reconditioned to retain their ornate charm You can stay in the high-cielinged suite once occupied by Madonna (and other notables) for a mere $8,000 a night. Checkout time is noon.
Dined at LA POBRE LUIS a parilla (grill) dedicated to football (soccer). The specialty is something called a Paloma. This is a plump sausage-type creation that is spiced meat (in my case pork) wrapped around melted cheese. Sort of an Argentine take on Chicken Kiev. Very yummy.
Dessert was a caramelized apple pancake β spectacular!
