Gordon Holmes had a singular vision for Lookout Ridge, his winery property high in the Mayacamas mountains. Gordon hires some of California’s best winemakers to craft each of the wines, choosing them for their expertise in particular varietals. The stable of talent has now grown to eight different winemakers, including cult personalities such as Cathy Corison, who makes a racy Cabernet, and Marco DiGiulio, whose Syrah is silky and complex. The superb Lookout Ridge Pinot and Chardonnay are crafted by Greg LaFollette, one of the country’s best-known Burgundian experts. These fabulous winemaker-designated wines are available via the winery’s website at lookoutridge.com. Gordon also created wonderfully unique “Wine for Wheels” program.
