The first name that comes to mind when considering iconic New York hotels is the WALDORF-ASTORIA. Built in 1931, the WALDORF is a full city block skyscraper designed in dramatic Art Deco style. Now run by Hilton, the hotel is a landmark as well as one of New York’s most luxurious addresses. I had occasion to stay in the WALDORF recently and it was a delightful experience. The huge lobby and lavish public rooms are certainly impressive, but the efficiency and style in which the hotel is run was a very pleasant surprise. Being an older hotel, the rooms are a good size with high ceilings, but bathrooms are comfortable and updated. And you can’t beat the WALDORF’s location. If you are looking for a great hotel in New York City, look no further.
