Fire Up the Grill
Few people know barbeque better than Steven Raichlen, and this month, he’s released an all-encompassing barbeque bible. The book, Planet Barbeque!: An Electrifying Journey Around the World’s Barbeque Trail from Workman publishing will be enlightening for even the most seasoned grilling chefs. Raichlen has been traveling the world for years and years, learning new techniques and flavors from historical grill chefs—because, as we know, grilling is one of the world’s oldest forms of cooking. This incredibly comprehensive book is fun, informative, and creative, giving everyone an opportunity to sample fine grilled fare—including those who are exclusively vegetarian, or close to exclusively carnivorous. He’s gotten my attention with smoked ice cream, salt-roasted chicken from Uruguay, and a fruit stuffed leg of kid goat. Planet Barbeque is available for $23 in stores and online.
