Kings County Whiskey
Not many of us refer to Brooklyn as “Kings” these days, but when you hear this news, it’ll catch on. Kings County Distillery is the first legal distillery since prohibition, open now in Brooklyn, bottling artisanal, high-end spirits. Flasks of the hooch are available now-ish, assuming they’ve gotten the green light from the state liquor authority. You won’t be surprised that owners David Haskell and Colin Spoelman have set up shop in South Williamsburg. One is an architect, the other a writer and editor, both with a genuine interest in creating smooth-drinking spirits. They craft three different types of spirits - bourbon, whisky, and a variety of moonshine that is sure to pique the curiosity of us New Yorkers. For more information, visit kingscountydistillery.com. This exciting trend is happening all over the country – and now here.
