A San Francisco gem
If you’re planning a visit to the City by the Bay you should try the hottest restaurant there. Make a reservation at QUINCE. Located at 470 Pacific Street, near the Embarcadero, this is one of the handsomest restaurants in town and Michael Tusk’s Italian food is truly excellent. Start with squash blossoms stuffed with burrata and ricotta cheese or Dungeness crab with cucumber, radish and lemon verbena. Pastas are sublime, particularly the piedmontese agnolotti and the capellacci with sweet corn and chanterelle mushrooms. Main courses include lovely Liberty Farms duck in two preparations, bollito misto of beef, veal and guinea hen, and tender black sea bass. The wine list, one of the best in the country, is presided over by famed wine director David Lynch. QUINCE is worth a special trip to San Francisco. Don’t miss it.
