Wine and Food
I recently attended Vino 2011—the third annual Italian Wine Week. A series of tastings and seminars held at The Waldorf=Astoria, one of the panels discussed a new food and wine labeling system coming from the European Union later this year. Though it may be complicated for wine lovers already familiar with regions, the new system will create a unified Protected Designation of Origin system for all comestibles coming from the EU. I think this will be a great help for anyone looking to pair wine and food. Now, if you’re having an Italian dinner with authentic Italian ingredients, just pair the food with a wine marked with the same region on the label.
