Adult Soda Float
Most of us, at some point in our childhood, remember slurping a refreshing ice cream float on a hot summer afternoon. Well I have good news! Your childhood isn’t over and the cool summer treat isn’t obsolete just yet. Kick up your feet and cool off with a Manhattan Float. Heat 3 cups of fresh Bing or Lambert cherries, and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan for 3 minutes. Cook that down until you get a nice, silky syrup. After that cools, mix an ounce of it with an ounce or more of your favorite bourbon. Maker’s Mark works with its flavors of vanilla and toast and marvelously balanced finish. Pour your mix into a hurricane glass. Top with cherry soda, and leave room for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Slurp your float and enjoy.
