An Exciting New Restaurant on Sawtelle
FLORES is an exciting new market-driven restaurant in the space that used to be SAWTELLE KITCHEN. The place has been given a modern minimalist rustic look and the menu offers innovative but simply prepared dishes. Start with luscious deviled eggs topped with crisp pig’s ears, pork cheek croquetas, salmon crudo, or lovely kanpachi ceviche. There are small plates such as chicken liver bruschetta, delicious meatballs, shishito peppers and grilled prawns come next and large plates include delightful curried mussels, a crunchy soft shell crab sandwich with avocado, slow roasted brisket and fine roasted chicken. For dessert there’s a stunning blackberry cobbler. Service is breezy and professional and there’s a cozy patio. FLORES, by the way, is open for lunch and dinner and brunch on weekends. It’s a welcome addition to westside dining.
