Dining Out in the Hamptons
The restaurant scene in the Hamptons is hotter than ever, and the quality of the food is the best it’s ever been. I focused on East Hampton and nearby and I had several memorable meals. Since Hampton restaurants have to cram their profitable days between Memorial Day and Labor Day, prices can definitely be high. Even in the less pretentious places, you can expect to pay handsomely. NICHOL'S is a good example. It’s a small quaint place on the Montauk Highway just east of East Hampton. True it’s more expensive than you think. But they have the best chicken pot pie I ever tasted – creamy, rich, loaded with chicken chunks and topped by a dome of puff pastry. I went back twice. The rest of the menu is fine too. Check it out. NICHOL'S.
