It's National Apple Month!
Try Bon Appétit’s recipe for prosciutto-wrapped pork loin with roasted apples. It’s exceptional! Use Fuji apples to make a natural, sweet base. Find the recipe at BON APPETIT DOT COM. For a delicious fall cocktail, shake up an Early Autumn, created by Adam Schuman, mixologist of Fatty Crab in New York City. Infuse 1 bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin with 4 red apples, 1 pear and ¼ pound dried pears in a mason jar. Seal and store in the fridge for 7 days. When ready, shake together 1½ ounces of the gin, ½ ounce absinthe, 1 ounce apple cider, ½ ounce pear brandy, ½ ounce fresh lemon juice and 2 dashes chocolate bitters. Strain over ice, top with ginger beer, and garnish with a lemon peel and cinnamon stick. It’s really amazing!
