How about a quintessential fall delight? The Hot and Nutty Whiskey Sour is the perfect beverage to get any soirée started. Combine ¾ cup Nocello, or your preferred walnut-flavored liqueur with ¾ cup simple syrup, ¼ cup fresh lemon juice, and 1 ½ cups whiskey or bourbon in a medium saucepan. Maker’s Mark is a great choice. Bring your mix to a simmer. Let cool, divide among 4 mugs, and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Or try the American in Paris, a classic Manhattan with a continental touch. Shake 1 ½ ounces bourbon, ½ ounce crème de cassis, ½ ounce dry vermouth and ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass, and garnish with a lemon slice. Cheers!
