Last Minute Ideas
The time is dwindling. If you’re still without gifts, hop into your local bookstore. Ranking among the top cookbooks in my collection is Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird, by Gabriel Rucker and Meredith Erickson with Lauren and Andrew Fortgang for $40. It is THE most original book of the year! Then there’s Jerusalem: A Cookbook, Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi’s personal odyssey with the city’s most delicious fare for $35. A library of advanced recipes, Wanye Gisslen’s The Professional Bakeshop may be the best baking-centric cookbook I have ever seen – priced at $65. Not from this year, but possibly the most outstanding book on Italian food and wine is SPQR by Shelley Lindgren and Matthew Accarrino with Kate Leahy, for $35. Nothing says the holidays like this book’s suckling pig dishes. Happy Holidays!
