Last Minute Ideas

Last Minute Ideas The time is dwindling. If you’re still without gifts, hop into your local bookstore. Ranking among the top cookbooks in my collection is Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird, by Gabriel Rucker and Meredith Erickson with Lauren and Andrew Fortgang for $40. It is THE most original book of the year! Then there’s Jerusalem: A Cookbook, Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi’s personal odyssey with the city’s most delicious fare for $35. A library of advanced recipes, Wanye Gisslen’s The Professional Bakeshop may be the best baking-centric cookbook I have ever seen – priced at $65. Not from this year, but possibly the most outstanding book on Italian food and wine is SPQR by Shelley Lindgren and Matthew Accarrino with Kate Leahy, for $35. Nothing says the holidays like this book’s suckling pig dishes. Happy Holidays!
