Bacon Wrapped Figs
Celebrate the end of summer with one of the season’s most delicious offerings: figs! As one of the oldest fruits known to man, figs are legendary for their soft, yet slightly crisp, texture and sweet, honey-like flavor. They are undeniably delicious and often enjoyed on their own, in a salad, or my personal favorite… wrapped in bacon! These dynamite nibbles are a perfect duo of salty and sweet. To make, start with freshly halved figs. Top the halves on the cut side with a small dollop of goat cheese for some creaminess and chopped toasted pecans for a little crunch. Next, wrap a slice of bacon around the fig, making sure to cover the cheese and pecans. Secure all ingredients together with a toothpick, and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 7 to 8 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy. Plate and serve with a light drizzle of honey. Your taste buds will thank you.
