Head on over to your nearest strawberry stand, and savor spring’s sweetest sensation. As the first fruit of spring, these beloved berries are at their peak from April to June. While many enjoy these red beauties with breakfast and other sweet dishes, strawberries are a sensational addition to a wide range of foods and drinks. This spring, try a light, cool, strawberry rosé punch.
Large bowl of Strawberry Rosé Punch
- 1 pint of sliced strawberries
- 12 thinly sliced basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 10 cups of crushed ice
- 1 bottle of citrus soda
- 1 bottle of rose
To make, combine 1 pint of sliced strawberries, 12 thinly sliced basil leaves, and 1 teaspoon of sugar in a large punch bowl. Using a cocktail muddler, gently mash strawberries until they reach the consistency of fresh jam. Add 10 cups of crushed ice, 1 bottle of citrus soda and 1 bottle of rosé to the bowl. Stir and combine.
Strawberries add sweet zings to a plethora of recipes, but there’s no denying that they are also divine when gobbled right out of the soft green carton – washed first, of course.
