Cookbook Recommendation: Food 52 Genius Recipes
Food52 is an innovative culinary website that was created to support home chefs in the kitchen. As the name implies, Food52 is a hub for seasonal fare. Streamlining their most iconic recipes is Executive Editor, Kristen Miglore in her beautiful book, Genius Recipes.
The pages are brimming with 100 legendary recipes, many of which have shaped the way that we cook today. The delightful roasted carrot and avocado salad with crunchy seeds that put ABC Kitchen on the map is unfiltered and ethereal.
Main courses include a lovely salt-baked herbed salmon with a red onion and caper vinaigrette and Suzanne Goin’s eminent grilled pork burgers. There is a striking pasta dressed with yogurt and caramelized onions. And Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Mark Bittman’s ginger fried rice is a knockout. Now don’t miss the book’s sweet end. Served up are James Beard strawberry shortcakes and Marian Burros’ purple plum torte.
Genius Recipes, $35, is brilliant. Info and more at bluelifestyle.com.
