Homemade Peanut Butter
Happy National Peanut Month! Celebrate by making your own peanut butter at home. It’s not only super simple, but also doesn’t come with store bought preservatives and chemicals. All you need is:
- 2 cups of Raw Shelled Peanuts
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 ½ tablespoon of Peanut Oil
- 1 tablespoon of Honey
Pulse the peanuts in your CUISINART food processor until ground, about 1 minute. Scrape the sides and blend again. Continuously blend and scrape for another 3 minutes. When the texture softens to a creamy consistency, blend in salt, peanut oil, and honey. Process until completely smooth, another minute or two. Transfer the peanut butter to an air-tight container and store in a cool place. This peanut butter can be used immediately and will keep for several weeks. For a richer taste, you can roast your peanuts before blending. Enjoy!
